We have an opening for a 2nd shift Packaging Operator at our beautiful manufacturing facility in Greenwood.
2nd shift hours are 3:
00 pm to 11:
30 am or until work is completed.
Pay is $18.
00 to $21.
00 per hour depending on experience.
Some overtime may be required.
Compensation includes full benefits.
Packaging Operators are responsible for the packaging of pasteurized flavor bases and bakery fillings into commercial grade bags, drums and stainless-steel tote bins ranging in size from 5 to 200 gallons per container.
Packaging Operators ensure that safety guidelines are being followed, that precise weights are being input in packages, and that this takes place in a very detailed but efficient manner.
They work with scales, pallet jacks, food manufacturing fillers and pumps.
Duties include:
fill products similar to jellies and pie fillings into lined 55-gallon drums to a certain weight; fill products into industrial stainless steel tote bins after such bins are properly cleaned and sanitized; operate a 5-gallon bag-in-box filler machine, box erector and inkjet labeler; manual palletization of 40 to 50 pound boxes onto a pallet; maintain a clean, sanitary work area; recording of data into the appropriate logs; apply labels when necessary; follow good manufacturing practice guidelines that ensure food safety.
Skills required are:
team-work oriented; self-starter; dependable; responsible; attention to detail; good communication skills; ability to move up to 50 pounds from a conveyor belt to an elevated pallet; prolonged periods of standing and walking; ability to work in an alert and safe manner; ability to communicate in English with co-workers in a respectful manner; ability to work overtime as needed; high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience preferred in a manufacturing production environment.
