Summary:
Responsible for the follow up and collection of accounts that require additional review beyond the normal claims submission process.
Responsible for working with insurance carrier representatives to resolve accounts in a timely manner.
This is a hybrid role.
Expected hours of work are Monday-Friday 8AM-4:
30PM.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Responsible for procuring final resolution of all insurance owed balances.
This would include but not be limited to refiling of insurance claims, phone communication and appeal processes with third party payors.
2.
Responsible for communication of incorrect filing issues that result in coverage being denied to the supervisor, Physician, office staff and administration to alleviate future denials.
3.
Responsible for all inquiries relating to appeals by payors whether orally or in writing.
4.
Responsible for the collection activity in accordance with the Corporate Financial Policy.
5.
Responsible for meeting the production and quality standards as set for this position.
6.
Responsible for providing appropriate documentation to support write-offs and adjustments to accounts.
7.
Responsible for knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding.
8.
Responsible for knowledge of all third party compliance, regulatory rules and filing requirements and communicating this information to the appropriate staff.
9.
Maintain up to date knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding.
10.
Responsible for cross training with other positions within the Central Billing Operations as designated by management.
11.
Responsible for adhering to the Corporate Confidentiality Policy.
12.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
5
years experience in collection of medical accounts Highly knowledgeable in all third party payor regulations and compliance policies/ guidelines Proven appeal and denial management skills Thorough knowledge of CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and multi tasking ability Knowledge of billing computer software - NextGen preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
