Summary:
The RN delivers professional nursing care in the pre and post operative setting to patients undergoing ophthalmology procedures.
Responsibilities:
oMonitor and Assess patients pre and post operatively.
Record and communicate patient's condition with physician and other health care professionals.
oAdminister medications as ordered.
oMaintain timely and accurate documentation.
oProvide pre and post operative education to patients and their family.
oAssist physicians with laser treatments.
oProvide discharge instructions and discharge patients.
oAssist Anesthesia personnel with ophthalmic regional anesthesia.
oProvide supervision for licensed and non-licensed personnel in the pre and post operative areas.
oPrepare pre and post operative areas for surgery.
oClose pre and post operative areas after surgery.
oMaintain all clinical records oAssist with state and federal regulations not only meeting but exceeding standards.
oAssist ASC Charge RN with chart auditing and ordering supplies.
Education &
Experience:
oMinimum Qualification:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program and posses a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Indiana by hire date to position.
oPreferred Experience (Not required):
Experience in an Ophthalmology setting.
Licenses & Certifications:
oMinimum Qualification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification obtained within thirty days of hire date to position.
oPreferred Qualification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
